Specials for week of January 25

This is still Richard's wife, Louise. So, good news/bad news story. Good news, Richard is probably coming home on Friday...bad news, Richard is probably coming home on Friday... As much as I really want him home, it's still scary. The kids (boys) took down the bunkbeds and put up Aaron's first bed which was a captains bed that sits up higher with drawers underneath. We figure it will be easier for Richard to get in and out of for the next couple of weeks. Found a couple of favorite old stuffed animals cleaning out their bedroom....Scott found the platipus beany baby, he was so excited! But, Richard is getting better every day. Took him to church and really wore him out. Slept for about 3 hours after that...

Wednesday Extra Specials: East Coast Bluefish $3.99 lb, Fluke fillets $9.99 lb. similar to taste and texture to halibut but more reasonable price. Call by 4 p.m. Tuesday, only 10 lbs ordered but can get more if we let them know by 4.

Specials for the week of Jan 18

So here we are again. First.. and I know this is what you're waiting to hear. How's Richard doing? Surgery went with out a hitch, but then ... I went to see him on Tuesday and it was not a pretty sight. He was in alot of pain. After we (the nurses and I) explained that he was given a morphine pump to use it, things looked much better. He was transferred to Peabody on Friday late afternoon. He's had a few minor set backs (drainage from his left leg.. low hemoglobin, which required an ambulance ride back to ThedaClark for a transfusion all day Sunday!) he is now gently resting at Pine Creek Peabody Manor. Actually, he's not resting at all. The have a mean therapy schedule for him. 2 hrs in the morning and 2.5 in the afternoon, but he's up and moving and walking and not in a lot of pain. I just left him tonight and he's looking pretty chipper which makes me feel much better. I did make him put his wedding ring back on before he transferred to the nursing home. You can never be too careful around all those little old ladies.. they see a young man like him with no ring.. :) On to the seafood specials.

Well here I am typing Richard's message for him. It's been a long day of waiting. His surgery was scheduled for 1:20 but he didn't leave the prep area until 3:10. Back in his room by 8:00 p.m. Had a little trouble waking up.. but you know, it's Richard. The Dr. said everything went as planned, good strong bones, took out the hardware that was there and put in the two new knees. And contrary to what he may tell you.. he will NOT be an inch taller or cuter..just not gonna happen. Richard and I both really appreciate your prayers and support. Now it's on to recovery!

Spent a nice weekend at the lake celebrating Richard's dad's 83rd birthday. My nephew shoveled off the ice rink on the lake and in typical 'John' style.. he brought over the snow blower. I think we have a regulation size hockey rink. Everybody had a good time getting the rust off of their skating techniques. Next year Richard will be able to don his skates!!!

Specials for week of January 4th

Happy New Year to all. Hope this year is better for you than the past year. The past year was very good to us, sales up in seafood, meat and wine. I really appreciate your support.

Next Monday the 11th I am having both knees replaced so the e-mail will be out early next week and Louise will probably do it the next week. I am hoping for greatly reduced pain and some mobility in about 4 weeks. I expect to be away from work 2-3 months. I will really need your support to keep the store going while I am gone.
